Villasimius is maybe the most popular touristic locality of south Sardinia; it's characterized by beautiful beaches of white sand and crystalline water (Timi Ama, Porto Giunco, Simius), by several creeks of Capo Carbonara rocky shores and by the islands Cavoli and Serpentara, destination for boat trip and snorkeling lovers.The institution of Area Marina Protetta di Capo Carbonarahas surely helped to preserve these natural beauties, especially the depthes and the sea life.In the offices of touristic port of Villasimius inform about the regulations which rules the activities inside the park.The beaches are all served by bathing establishments; you can find boat rent service, sailing school, diving centre, guided excursions.From Villasimius port, many boats organize excursions to yhe island of Cavoli and Serpentara, with fish launch on board.In the port it's also possible to rent boats.In late afternoon all the activities are in the centre of the town; all the social life is in Via del Mare, the main street, with it's interesting shops, several bars, restaurantes and pizzerie.It's possible to enjoy going to the cinema under the sky or in the pubs and discos as the famous Peyote.You can taste typical sardinian dishes in several agritours, especially near Castiadas.The shore between Villasimius and Castiadas is characterized by wonderfoul beaches of white sand and limpid water: Cala Pira, Cala Sinzias with it's beautiful view on Serpentara, S.ta Giusta, Piscina Rei.How to get to VillasimiusFrom Cagliari (Cagliari-Elmas Airport; Port):turn into litoranean road(on the famous beach of Cagliari,Poetto) and follow the road signs for Villasimius; the road is fuul of sightseens and during the trip you can admire Capo Carbonara and the island of Cavoli. After 45 km you arrive in Villasimius. It takes about 50 minutes.
